A creative way to break up digital learning
When Caverion started a new leadership development program, they wanted a creative way to break up the digital learning. The choice fell on Wittario, and that’s a decision they are very happy with!
Caverion is a technical construction contractor, specialising in eight different technical disciplines. They build, rehabilitate, service and operate existing smart and sustainable buildings.
With 35 departments around the country with over 2,400 employees, and managing the operation and maintenance of over 30,000 construction and industrial facilities in 11 European countries, it is important for Caverion to always have relevant and up-to-date training of the employees at all times.
Rules regarding technical contracts are heavy, and it is HR managerAtle Mørch Sjølie’s job to facilitate good and correct training programs, so that Caverion employees at all times has the necessary expertise, He’s also responsible for ensuring that all regulations the company must relate to, are followed.
– If we are to succeed in competition with other technical contractors, then it is our competence we must compete with.
Caverion has different training levels for the different teams, in addition to its own training for project managers, managers, and safety representatives – they have tailored training for all roles and levels in the company.
– We’re in a completely new era, and that means that education and training has also taken on a different form and has to be done in new ways. We need to do everything more digitally than before. Before we used traditional classroom gatherings. We’ve supplemented with a lot of e-learning throughout the years, but now we have taken it one step further, running gatherings and smaller groups in digital training arenas.
Atle is talking about a leadership development program Caverion has created. Here they’ve chosen to test one of the modules digitally over a two day period. It was when they were discussing how to make the course as interesting and easy for the participants to absorb as possible, that Wittario was mentioned as a solution.
After a short presentation from founder Lars Gunnar, it wasn’t long before they started testing the app. In only a month, Caverion has managed to create a simple concept that they’ve implemented in the digital leadership training. After three hours of training, there is one hour of lunch, and it is during this lunch hour Caverion uses Wittario to do something different.
– It's simply to have a little fun, do something else, break it up a bit and a reason to get outside after sitting down and watching a screen for several hours. In addition we can add more learning to the participants in a simple and easy going way.
Atle says that the feedback from the participants have been positive:
– The participants thinks it’s been a lot of fun, there’s been a lot of laughter!
For the last six months of 2021, it is planned to implement a cultural project in all departments to strengthen the corporate identity of Caverion, as well as making the company's values visible and implemented. Wittario will be a natural element to bring into the decision-making process, to decide which elements are to be included in the implementation.
We’re looking forward to the future of Caverion and Wittario!
